If you hold a Work Permit, your employer is responsible for your accommodation. MOM requires them to: • Provide housing that meets MOM's standards. • Pay the rent on time, and renew or find alternative housing before the tenancy ends. • Register your residential address and mobile number with MOM through the Online Foreign Workers Address Service before your Work Permit is issued, and report any change within 5 days. • Where meals are catered, make sure the food is safe to eat and delivered on time. MOM inspects declared addresses. An employer who does not comply can be prosecuted, barred from applying for Work Permits, and have their security bond forfeited. If your housing is unsafe, overcrowded, or the rent has not been paid and you are being told to leave, this is your employer's problem to fix, not yours. Contact MOM or the Migrant Workers' Centre — you will not lose your pass for asking.
