In August 2026 about 1.5 million adult Singaporeans will receive up to $850 through GST Voucher – Cash. **This scheme is paid only to Singapore citizens.** Work Permit, S Pass and Employment Pass holders are not eligible, and neither the amount nor the timing has anything to do with your pass. This is worth knowing for two reasons. You will not waste a rest day queueing or filling in forms for money that is not yours to claim. And when a message arrives saying you must "click here to claim your GST Voucher", you will know immediately that it is a scam — if you are on a work pass, there is nothing to claim. What does apply to everyone is the GST rate itself, and changes to bus, MRT and utility charges. Those we will cover as they happen.
